Venue Cymru, Llandudno
The 20th of October 2016 brought an early start for the Genero team. The team of 8 had 4 vans loaded with top quality equipment for an event providing quality AV for 100’s at the annual Apprenticeship Awards Cyrmu.
With purpose and patriotism, Genero gladly agreed to provide pre-production support and manage all AV elements at an event that rewards individuals, learning providers and employers who have excelled in contributing to the development of the Welsh Governments Employability and Apprenticeship programmes across Wales.
Genero’s Creative Executive, Paul Keene, did a sterling job of remotely designing a real show stopping, dynamic and technically current stage. The pre-production support allowed Genero to arrive and set up the multitude of parts at a speedy rate, and never ones to do things by half, Genero started by erecting a stunning and sparkling 70ft star cloth. This was complimented with a custom built, custom lit, awards background of staggered horizontal panels. The shapes were made up of Pixelmesh LED Panels that allowed a beautiful display of abstract moving graphics.
Giant projectors were used on a rather spectacular 30ft x 10ft super edge blend picture in picture (PiP) screen. This piece of kit looks impressive and functionally it has the capability to run two different presentations simultaneously.
The stage was set and guests were in for a real treat. Before the awards were presented, The Culinary Association of Wales, led by Michael Bates, served up a treat to all. He was welcomed on stage with his team by a rapturous applause and continued to proudly tell guests of their goals and up and coming events.
Only Boys Aloud delighted guests in between awards and the audience applauded as winners and their families were invited onto stage for a very memorable photograph.
Pete Leckie, Managing Director of Genero has commented by saying, “What a prestigious award to be part of. I’m so proud of the teams’ efforts and the end result of the creation was simply superb. Our greatest congratulations, Llongyfarchiadau, to the winner and all those shortlisted for each award”!
